What is Powerlifting?
Powerlifting comprises three lifts: the Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift. Powerlifting competitions may be comprised of one, two or all three of the lifting disciplines.
Athletes are categorized by sex, age and body weight. Each competitor is allowed three attempts at each lift, the best lift in each discipline being added to their total. The lifter with the highest total is the winner. In cases where two or more lifters achieve the same total, the person with the lightest body weight wins.
At OG, it is encouraged that everyone be on some type of strength journey. if you're ready to take that journey to the next level, Powerlifting might be for you. Paul handles all of the programming for our powerlifters and encourages everyone to get on the platform and compete under the rules and standards of a sanctioned meet.
Our competitive powerlifters typically train after 6pm three days a week.
